It was since last year that rumors about a DeX docking station would be revealed at CES along with the Samsung Galaxy S9.

Even though we haven’t seen the S9 at CES, recent leaks have strengthened the idea behind the DeX device. Evan Blass from evleaks recently posted an image of the DeX Pad on twitter.
The new docking station is different from the one that came with the S8, featuring a flat design and going for a more traditional aspect.
Among its connectivity features, there is an HDMI port, two USB ports and an USB-C connector.
According to the leak, the new DeX will be backwards compatible with the S8 and the phone will lie on its back while plugged in.
This allows the smartphone to become a virtual keyboard or a touchpad.
With the help of a monitor and desktop peripherals, the S8 can be turned into a PC so the S9 will also most likely feature the same possibility.
